This Week in the Studio (Feb 1st)

To be totally honest, I haven't been doing a great job of keeping a running list of The Best Thing in each day. I'll keep trying though. But one thing that does bring me satisfaction and even joy, many days, is my work. I've been doing this for a living now for about 8 years and it doesn't escape me how lucky I am to be able to support myself with work that I still love.

Anyway, here are a few things I packed up this week.

Remember those cute little custom spools from last week? Here's eight pounds of those guys, before they were boxed up and sent off to Japan.

Something new! From my supplier of recycled sari silk ribbons, this wide silk - also from old saris - which I'm just starting to colour and will have in my shops this spring. I love how it takes the dye.

That new ribbon in Toinette

Some bulk bundles of the original recycled sari ribbons

And a side-product of preparing those ribbons: silk roving, which some crafty folk love for felting details.

A DIY dye kit, with instructions - everything you need to get started with yellows, blues and reds

Next week is looking just as busy! I hope you are having a lovely weekend, wherever you are.

- S.
