8 Xmas Gift Ideas from Small British Brands
(and then some!)
This month I was thrilled to be invited to join the ranks of carefully-curated small British companies featured on the beautiful brand magazine The Artisan Founder
Since I have been - like many folk this time of year - struggling sometimes to think of good gifts for friends and family, I thought it might be helpful to share a few of the gorgeous, handmade things featured on The Artisan Founder.. but do click over to their site for many dozens more brands and gifts from other UK small businesses there!
Here's the list from my instagram post, with clickable links to each company's site.
For your arty friends, or perhaps, your art-curious friends, this lovely how to book by artist Gemma Koomen. Her site also features many more beautiful things that would make great gifts
So many delicous looking things on the Orford-based Pump Street Chocolate site! Check it out
Beautiful handmade candles from Fern + Fell in the Lake District

Anyone who really knows me knows that I love a good gin and this one from Dunnet Bay Distillers in Scotland is presented in such a gorgeous bottle, I want to get my hands on it too! If anyone wants to send me one, I won't say no!
If you're after a pre-packed hamper of green personal care and cleaning items, you couldn't go wrong with this lovely bunch from Goodwash in Wales. As someone who tries really hard to avoid the nasties like sulphates and parabens in the things I wash and clean with, I'm going to be giving them a try too!
I will be the first to admit that I've got a bit of a journal problem. I just love them. i don't know what it is, but I suspect something to do with the idea of possiblity in all those unwritten pages. This lovely one from Bolton-based Ink & Bloom could easily join the pile by my bed. Everything on their site is so gorgeously designed and they're into biodegradeable packaging too.
I also have a very hard time passing up a new blanket when I see one this beautiful. Laura's Loom, in Cumbria, makes so many gorgeous things in a beautoful array of colours (and you know I'm colour-obsessed!) from British wool. Check out her site for many more gift ideas too.
If you know someone who loves to decorate for Xmas, you can't go wrong with a new ornament and this beautiful, handcrafted clay from Nottinghamshire-based Everystory one is going to look beautiful on a tree! They have SO many other lovely things on their site too - from jewelry to dishes
And of course, i would be remiss if I didn't plug my own work a little bit. My hand dyed silk ribbon makes a lovely addition to any gift wrap, if I do say so myself.

feel free to have a digital wander around my own shop for all sorts of naturally-dyed silk and bamboo ribbons in a rainbow of colours.
I hope at least one person will find this post helpful.
Happy Holidays All!
